Perhaps it's been dumbed down in the last few months, but it I found it pretty simple. Wave one: Swift cast, sleep, pick off the mage. Wave two: swift cast, sleep, kill two portals, renew sleep on mages, kill final portal, pick off mages. Wave three: swift cast, flare on middle portal (should hit both mages too). Sleep first wave of demons, run over to second portal so the group will follow you when sleep wears off, start flare, ice 3, flare combo until portals and most demons are down. Pick off whatever is left. Done, got it in two tries. Aside from having access to Physick, there were no further preparations, was all in gear you get from the main storyline. As with most of these class specific quests, it's about knowing how and when to use your skills.
